What Is Vintage Fashion?

So what is vintage fashion, exactly? It's basically clothing and accessories that are at least 20 years old, though some people might consider anything more than 10 years old to be vintage.

There's no certitude to this question, as the term can be used to describe everything from 1920s flapper dresses to fashion 70, with it,s bell bottoms. But what all vintage fashion has in common is that it was once popular and is now considered to be classic or iconic. The term can also be applied in reference to second-handle retail outlets, e.g. in the vintage clothing store. While the original concept was taken from World War I as a response to circumstances that happened to textile shortages. This war outbreak has changed the roles of women in society leading to the need for a different function from fashion. We can say it is a more structured military look with jobs such as factories, officers, or farms, that often require a trousers or uniform. Other shortages are dresses became simplified and the skirts shortened to make the dress easier to wear, either it was thrift the fabric.

Now we can say, that vintage style today became more popular. What makes vintage fashion such as fashion of 60's or fashion of 70 so appealing? For one thing, it's a great way to show off your unique and personal style. No matter what era you favor, there's bound to be a vintage design that suits you. What's more, some vintage fashion is typically well-made and can be very affordable. We can find Vintage clothing at local boutiques, second-hand shopping, or at a vintage store. But the simple way for buying is through the internet, e.g. eBay, Etsy, or through second-hand shopping websites. Vintage fashion has seen popularity in this 21st century due to the increased predominance of vintage pieces among artists or socialites, as well as a trend of a sustainable lifestyle.
